Detailed Description

This 8 night tour represents very good value as a Botswana package.

Visiting 4 quality lodges, the tour initially takes you through Chobe National Park, overlooking the Chobe floodplains area with game drives and sunset boat cruises. Next on to a private concession in the massive Linyanti region with its large herds of buffalo and elephant, and a private concession in the central areas of the Okavango. These camps provide you with a diversity of vegetation in exceptional game viewing areas where the focus is on wildlife viewing.

Lastly, your 4th lodge sits in a pristine area of the Central Kalahari, and is the only lodge deep within this national Park.

We think this tour represents very good value for what it delivers as it does not compromise on quality of area nor accommodation.

Daily Itinerary

Arrival

Arrive into Kasane Airport. You'll be greeted by Chobe Elephant Camp and transferred to their lodge

Day 1 & 2

Located on the western boundary of Chobe National Park, the camp sits in a quieter area than the busy Kasane riverfront, meaning fewer safari vehicles crowding the sightings. Activities include morning game drives through elephant-rich terrain, afternoon boat cruises on the Chobe River where you'll drift past bathing elephants and basking hippos, and cultural visits to the nearby Sibuya village. At just a ninety-minute drive from Victoria Falls, it's perfectly positioned for combining multiple experiences in one trip.

Day 3 & 4

Eight spacious custom-designed canvas tents, including one family suite, occupy raised Zimbabwean teak decks connected by sandy walkways. Each accommodation features open-plan sleeping areas, en-suite bathrooms with double basins, claw-foot soaking tubs, separate toilets, and notably, double outdoor showers overlooking the plains. Unique mosquito net walls create an unobstructed flow of cooling breezes while maintaining insect protection. The communal areas center around a substantial firepit—the social and organizational hub where morning tea precedes daily activities and guests gather after sunset. Additional facilities include a plunge pool overlooking the plains, a dining pavilion, and a raised viewing deck positioned high enough to observe both waterway wildlife and terrestrial game.

Day 5 & 6

The area attracts notable predator concentrations including lions, leopards, cheetahs, and African wild dogs. Buffalo herds favor the river's proximity, creating regular predator-prey interactions. Elephants, giraffe, kudu, impala, hippopotamus, and various antelope species including rare sable and roan roam the concession. Game drives accommodate maximum six guests accompanied by a guide and tracker, with night drives available for nocturnal species observation. Seasonal water levels permit mokoro canoe excursions along the river, while walking safaris explore areas dependent on vegetation density and wildlife presence.

Day 7 & 8

The Kalahari supports unique wildlife species adapted to desert conditions. Springbok, gemsbok, hartebeest, wildebeest, and jackals inhabit the landscape alongside predators including lions, cheetahs, leopards, and the elusive brown hyena. Birdlife proves surprisingly prolific, with over 300 species recorded, including the massive Kori Bustard and colorful sandgrouse species. The reserve's attractions include excursions to Deception Valley, the dramatic landscape featured in the wildlife book "Cry of the Kalahari," as well as visits to Sunday, Piper, and Passarge Pans. Traditional bushwalk experiences with San trackers provide intimate cultural and natural history education, revealing desert survival techniques perfected over millennia.
