How does your day on safari work?

... here is what you can expect

A Typical Safari Day

Here is a rough outline of a normal day on safari

5:50am - Wake up call

All camps are different and will depend on the season you are travelling.... Generally they will wake you about half an hour before it's light.... this gives you enough time to get ready and wait for it to get a little light, when it will be safe for you to walk to the main area.

You will be either presented with a sumptuous or light breakfast... We do think that this first hour is really important for wildlife watching, so we encourage you to have a muffin and coffee and ask the guide to get you out into the bush as soon as possible.

6am - Morning Game Drive

Now is the time for your morning game drive. The guide will usher you to your vehicle and you will head out of camp.

Amongst themselves, the guides will have discussed their planned routes for the morning, establishing a pattern to cover the territory whilst keeping in touch with each other total in any sightings.

Along the way you will stop for a coffee break and any bush toilet breaks.

You will spend roughly 4 hours traversing the area and watching the extraordinary wildlife of Botswana.

11am to 4pm - Brunch and siesta

After your morning game drive, you get back to camp in time to head back to your room and freshen up before heading back k to the main area for a sumptuous lunch or brunch.

Following this you will have a few hours to chill out in your room, more often than not with a verandah with a view over the African bush

4pm - High Tea and afternoon activity

At about 4pm you are ready for your afternoon activity. Before this you will be presented with High Tea, providing you with stimulus to get your out there again for and afternoon and evening game drive.

Depending on what sightings you see, at sunset you will stop at a beautiful location for a traditional "sundowner" drink... usually a Gin and Tonic, or anything you wish for.

Continuing on, you travel through the bush for a night drive before ending back at camp. National Parks work differently in this way, in that you need to be back at the camp before it gets too dark.

Dinner and bed

Arriving back at camp when its dark, you must be escorted to and from your room if you want to freshen up before dinner.

You can have a drink at the bar before sitting down to an evenings dinner served with paired wines... you will never go hungry in the bush.

After dinner you will be invited down to the fire-pit area for a nightcap, or you can head straight to your room for some well deserved rest before the next days activities.

Experience it for yourself....!
