Detailed Description

Kiri is a more recent addition to the south of the Okavango... it has proven excellent for wildlife sightings and is a high quality camp, built to a luxurious standard.

From Kiri you move to the private concession in the Okavango Delta, and Gomoti Plains. Seasonally this camp has the potential to have a lot of water, making this a true Delta camp, with mostly game drives and the chance for boating and mokoro trips, subject to water levels.

Monachira is again a new camp, this time set on the fringes of the Okavango to the north. This lodge is noteworthy for is access to beautiful permanent water areas.

Daily Itinerary

Arrival

Arrive into Maun Airport. You'll be greeted by you charter aircraft company and flown to your first lodge

Day 1 - 3

What sets Kiri apart is how seamlessly it blends luxury with authenticity. The solar-powered camp uses locally sourced materials like wood, canvas, and reeds in its construction, creating spaces that feel like a natural extension of the ebony forest rather than an intrusion. Each tent features its own elevated deck with panoramic views, outdoor bathtubs, and en-suite facilities, while the communal areas encourage that classic safari atmosphere of swapping stories around the fire after a day spent exploring this remarkable ecosystem.

Okavango Delta

Day 4 - 6

The camp itself strikes a lovely balance between contemporary design and traditional safari atmosphere. It's an intimate setup with just a handful of tents, which means you get personalized attention and never feel like you're part of a crowd. The main areas are open and airy, with comfortable lounges and dining spaces that look out over the floodplains, and there's a lovely pool for cooling off during the heat of the day. The game viewing here is genuinely excellent, with big herds of elephants and buffalo, plenty of predators including lions and leopards, and during certain times of year, you might see the zebra migration passing through. The birdlife is phenomenal too, especially when the waters are high.

Day 7 - 8

Tucked away in a private concession near the Okavango Delta, Monachira Lodge offers a quieter, more intimate take on the Botswana safari experience. The lodge sits in an area where the dry Kalahari meets the watery wonderland of the delta, giving it a unique ecological position. This mix of environments means you get a bit of everything – seasonal floodplains, mopane woodlands, and open savannahs all within easy reach. It's not as well-known as some of the bigger names in the region, which honestly works in its favor if you're looking for something a bit more off the beaten path.

Day 9

Today your safari ends and you exit by light aircraft to Maun in time for your international departures or onwards travel.
