Daily Itinerary

Arrival

Arrive into Kasane Airport. You'll be greeted by Chobe Elephant camp who will transfer you by road to their lodge

Day 1 & 2

Chobe Elephant Camp maintains the strong ethos that the owners wish to portray, that of being an eco-friendly camp at an affordable rate…. we believe that they have achieved this admirably. These days it is very difficult for any lodge in the Chobe River Front area to keep the enigmatic name and history of “Chobe” alive. This region is not quite what its used to be and the Kasane end is now swamped with lodges and their vehicles gaining entry into the park. Chobe Elephant Camp is away from all the hustle & bustle and some 50 kilometers south at the other end of the park on the edge of the Chobe Forest Reserve. The benefits are that you are in a much quieter and private area and gain access to the National Park in a far less busy area… so you get get all the advantages at a very reasonable price. Its a very good 3 star Lodge.

Day 3 - 5

Lagoon is perched on the banks of the wild Kwando River, overlooking the Mudumu National Park in the Namibian Caprivi Strip. The camp is nestled beneath towering ebony and marula trees and accommodates up to 16 guests in eight traditionally styled ‘tents.’ The heavily forested site is home to a wide variety of birds and mammals, while elephant and hippo are normally visible from the camp. The stunning views and close proximity of wildlife all contribute to the pervading sense of calm at Lagoon. Lagoon underwent a complete rebuild and was re-opened in March 2011. Nestled under ebony and marula trees the spacious, thatched covered rooms are the perfect place to relax during the day and soak up the atmosphere while looking across the lagoon towards Namibia. The thatched main area of the camp is multi-level, the top area being the library which almost always has a breeze sweeping through. The main area was designed to fit perfectly into the natural landscape and allow views of the river and wetlands from all areas. Just past the bar/lounge area is the plunge pool, and it’s a short meander to the deck where a comfortable swing chair awaits.

Day 6 - 8

Splash Camp is situated in the heart of the Okavango Delta, within the Private Kwara Reserve. This brand new camp will offer a very relaxed, friendly and authentic atmosphere. The area has long been known as Splash due to the huge water crossings that had to be negotiated to access the camp area. The concession shares a 30km water boundary with the famous Moremi Game Reserve and its unique location boasts both permanent water and seasonal flood plains as well as extensive dry bush wilderness. Favoured by labyrinths of permanent water channels and secret islands this area offers the perfect delta experience, and is considered to be amongst the best in Botswana for game viewing and activities. The main area has a plunge pool, bar, lounge and also a hide. Just in front, towards the lagoon is the fire pit where a light breakfast is served each day before heading off on activities, and stories are told after supper in the evenings. The simple arrangement of the main living area exists under a large canvassed tent that is built utilizing the trees that actually grow through it. The simply furnished lounge and bar can be found here as well as the curio shop. There is a separate thatched dining area.

Day 9 & 10

Pom Pom is on the western Edge of the Moremi Game Reserve, it is a classically styled camp in a wet and dry area where the game is proving to be very good taking the last few years into consideration. The lodge is nice and open and you will feel happy that you came here as it’s very restful, just sitting and enjoying the seemingly tropical environment keeps well with this camps relaxing theme. Excellent mokoro and game drives are undertaken with the chance to do some walking safaris, so the activities are quite varied and you will not be disappointed as long as you do not expect huge herds of game. The game is here but we would certainly say that it is not prolific… but you never know, as this could be case pretty much anywhere.
