Detailed Description

From the Khwai concession with its remarkable predator activity and one of the only places that you can view wildlife on a river, through to a private concession on the southern edge of the central Okavango Delta region. Mokolwane Camp is renowned for its wildlife activities.

Then on to the Savuti region. The Savute channel is now flowing, bringing back the large herds of buffalo that made this area so famous.

Lastly to the Chobe National Park area where you can take in the views from the other great river, the Chobe River and perhaps enjoy a sunset boat cruise.

This is another tour which is superb value for money taking in some of the best regions without compromising the quality of accommodation.

Daily Itinerary

Arrival

Arrive into Maun Airport. You'll be greeted by your lodge company and your charter services, who will transfer you by charter aircraft to Sango

Day 1 & 2

Sango Safari Camp sits right on the banks of the Khwai River on the outskirts of the traditional Khwai village, bordering Moremi Game Reserve. It's a small, intimate setup with just six Meru-style tents accommodating twelve guests, and the whole vibe is much more about authentic safari experiences than over-the-top luxury. The camp is actually named after and partly owned by the local Sango family, who were among the original inhabitants of the area, which gives it a genuine community connection that's pretty rare. The location is brilliant because the Khwai River provides year-round water, attracting fantastic wildlife concentrations even during the dry season.

Day 3 - 5

The real draw here is the wildlife, particularly the predators. This area has the third-highest density of leopards recorded anywhere in Africa, plus lions, wild dogs, cheetahs, and spotted hyenas. Game drives morning and evening give you plenty of chances to explore the diverse ecosystem, and when water levels allow, mokoro trips add another dimension to the experience. It's deliberately low-key and unpretentious, perfect for serious safari enthusiasts who care more about the animals than the amenities.

Day 6 - 8

Savute Safari Lodge sits on the banks of the enigmatic Savute Channel in the western reaches of Chobe National Park, and it's become one of Botswana's most popular safari destinations for good reason. The area is absolutely renowned for intense predator activity, particularly the resident lion prides that have become famous for their ability to hunt large game like elephants and buffalo. The Savute Channel itself is fascinating – it has this mysterious habit of flowing and drying up completely independent of rainfall patterns elsewhere, which has puzzled geologists and locals for generations. Right now it's flowing again after decades of being dry, bringing even more wildlife to the area.

Day 9 & 10

Located on the western boundary of Chobe National Park, the camp sits in a quieter area than the busy Kasane riverfront, meaning fewer safari vehicles crowding the sightings. Activities include morning game drives through elephant-rich terrain, afternoon boat cruises on the Chobe River where you'll drift past bathing elephants and basking hippos, and cultural visits to the nearby Sibuya village. At just a ninety-minute drive from Victoria Falls, it's perfectly positioned for combining multiple experiences in one trip.

Day 11

Today your safari ends and you exit by light aircraft to Maun in time for your international departures or onwards travel.
