Detailed Description

This trip combines two relatively camps with a newer company into Botswana… we believe their approach is refreshing as is their price, offering you great accommodation in superb wildlife areas.

Machaba is the best placed camp in Khwai… and although this is a public area, to stay here feels completely remote with a great position right on the Khwai River. The area has proven itself to be one of the most prolific areas in Botswana for wildlife, especially leopards.

From Machaba you move to the private concession in the Okavango Delta, and Gomoti Plains. Seasonally this camp has the potential to have a lot of water, making this a true Delta camp, with mostly game drives and the chance for boating and mokoro trips, subject to water levels.

Daily Itinerary

Arrival

Arrive into Maun Airport. You'll be greeted by you charter aircraft company and flown to your first lodge

Day 1 - 3

Game viewing around Machaba is consistently rewarding, with excellent opportunities to spot lion, leopard, cheetah, and wild dog, alongside healthy populations of elephant and buffalo. The Khwai area's diverse habitats support an impressive variety of species, and the camp offers both morning and afternoon game drives as well as night drives for spotting nocturnal creatures. The guides here are knowledgeable locals who bring deep understanding of animal behavior and ecology, transforming each safari outing into an educational journey through one of Africa's most pristine wilderness areas.

Day 4 & 5

The camp itself strikes a lovely balance between contemporary design and traditional safari atmosphere. It's an intimate setup with just a handful of tents, which means you get personalized attention and never feel like you're part of a crowd. The main areas are open and airy, with comfortable lounges and dining spaces that look out over the floodplains, and there's a lovely pool for cooling off during the heat of the day. The game viewing here is genuinely excellent, with big herds of elephants and buffalo, plenty of predators including lions and leopards, and during certain times of year, you might see the zebra migration passing through. The birdlife is phenomenal too, especially when the waters are high.

Day 6

Today your safari ends and you exit by light aircraft to Maun in time for your international departures or onwards travel.
