3 Nights - San Camp - Makgadikgadi

Tour Map

What do we think?

This tour covers two majestic areas, that of the Greater Linyanti reserves and the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans, whilst staying in two of the best lodges in Botswana.

3 nights in each camp will give you more than enough time to fully explore and appreciate the incredible diversity of game in Linyanti, an area known for its congregations of buffalo and elephant and high numbers of predators. The Linyanti is also made famous by the renowned documentary film makers, the Joubert's, who are the owners of Selinda camp.

Then on to San Camp. Erected only for 6 months of the year this extraordinary camp sits on the very edge of a massive salt pan. The camp is styled in the nature of a Bedouin tent with exquisite furnishings and museum pieces. There simply is nothing like it in Botswana. This is an area of contemplation including bushman walks where you will be taught that what appears to be a huge expanse of nothing holds much more interest than you think.

Days 1 to 3

3 nights at Selinda, Linyanti

Upon arrival at Maun International Airport, you will board a charter flight to your first camp. Selinda Camp is located in the 320,000 acre Selinda Reserve of northern Botswana along the eastern banks of the Selinda Spillway, near the confluence of the Linyanti, Savute and Kwando Rivers

The camp has nine expansive tents, each cooled by thatch and with large en-suite bathrooms and private verandas. It is a very careful blend of humble bush camp with some extra bells ‘n’ whistles, making for a home away from home atmosphere. This careful mix

makes Selinda Camp a popular favourite.

Days 4 to 6

3 nights San Camp, Makdadikgadi

San Camp is situated on the edge of the vast and mysterious Makgadikgadi Salt Pans, the remnant of an extinct super lake that once covered most of Botswana.

Turn 360° and nothing crosses the eye but the bowl of the sky. Classic white tents stand majestically, perched on the shore of an enormous sparkling salt pan, each sheltered by a cluster of stately desert palms. Spectacular vistas, soothing and serene - Pared down safari elegance with minimal ecological impact, it is the nothingness that attracts.

Day 7

After your mornings activities and after a short light aircraft flight back to Maun, you'll connect with your onward journey. If you choose an extension to Vic Falls, your transfers and accommodation will be arranged with Safari Lifestyles... see below.
