This is the sister camp that sits not too far away from Linyanti Bush Camp. In essence, they are both very similar and share the same game drive region.

The difference with Linyanti Ebony is that it is designed to be smaller and more intimate with fewer beds. Although it is a very nice camp and in an area that can be productive, we feel it deserves 3 stars if compared to other lodges in similar areas, and although the cost per night is less we think its still a bit pricey.

Hippo and crocodile can be found in the surrounding marshes, and nocturnal creatures such as aardvark, civet and leopard can be found at night. Camp Overview

Linyanti Ebony sits quite close to its sister camp Linyanti Bush Camp and both camps are very similar in design and as such the following details are also similar

This small intimate tented camp is located alongside Linyanti Bush Camp on the Western boundary of Chobe in the famous Linyanti swamps. A classic camp of only 4 tents, accommodating up to 8 persons, it is meant to perfectly fit private safaris: families and small groups will experience a true African safari and enjoy the finest wildlife in Botswana in a private, exclusive atmosphere.

Lodge Layout

Linyanti Ebony camp is the sister camp to Linyanti Bush camp. Combining simple design with modern comfort and a measure of African elegance, the camp offers a relaxing environment amidst the Wilderness.

The main lodge area is a large open-sided canvas tent raised on wooden decking with a dining area. A small library, bar and lounge area with comfortable sofas ensures that all guests relaxed in a camp style is harkens back to older days when "simple" was better.

The deck gives a full view of the Linyanti floodplains and marsh, where large herds of elephant and buffalo move freely.  Outside of the tent is a faire pit at ground level for guests to enjoy an evening drink around whilst listening to the African bush sounds. Here there is a small Splash Pool.

The camp is quite open so do not be surprised to see elephant and other animals occasionally wander through the camp.

Room Description

The camp offers light, airy and tastefully furnished rooms under canvas and on concrete floors.. The meru tents are spacious at 8×5 metres (24×15 feet) and offer a bedroom with large wooden ornate beds under mosquito netting together with a wooden chest of drawers and wooden hanging space. There is a living area with comfortable sofas and footstools and a nice writing desk.

An elegant en-suite bathroom with flushing toilet, a simple vanity area with a mirror with double wash basins. In the corner is a shower cubicle that is walled in canvas. Each tents en-suites has hot and cold running water. In addition, each tent houses a small private covered decked area where guests can sit and enjoy the views over the Linyanti Marshes.

Camp Environment

The Chobe Enclave sits in an area in the middle of the Chode Game Reserve and the Linyanti Reserve. Lying in the North fo the country with the Chobe river bordering Namibia, Chobe National Park is the second largest park in Botswana (10,698 km2) after the Central Kalahari, and one of the world’s last remaining true wilderness area, with a spectacular diversity of flora and fauna.

To the north of the Okavango Delta, in the furthest corner of Chobe National Park lies the forgotten paradise of Linyanti.

Secluded and uncrowded, this short strip of swampy river frontage is reminiscent of the Okavango’s permanent waterways with papyrus-lined lagoons, reed-beds and a towering canopy of trees. Bordered by the Linyanti River in the north (at the Namibian border), and the Chobe National Park in the east, the Linyanti reserve covers 1,250 km2 of river, open floodplains and dense forests that protect high concentration of wildlife. The national park only touches the river for a short section on the far eastern edge of the swamp.
