Chobe Marina Lodge is not a bush Lodge, it is a large hotel lodge based in Kasane in the north west of Botswana.

It offers day trips to the Chobe National Park, which due to the busy Kasane town is not the best way to view Chobe, there is nothing wrong with these game drives as such, its just that the day trips into the park are very busy and there are better ways.

The lodge itself is OK, the rooms are spacious and tidy, the food and the staff quality can be hit and miss but that is what to be expected from a lodge with over 60 rooms.

The visitor must view Chobe Marina lodge for what it is, a good stop off point en-route to somewhere else.

Wildlife & Activities

If you allow yourself adequate time here and venture into the park you will probably see nearly all the major species: giraffe, elephant, zebra, impala, tsessebe, roan, sable, wildebeest, kudu, buffalo, waterbuck, warthog, eland and accompanying predators including lion, hyena, jackal, bat-eared fox and possibly even cheetah and wild dog.

Game drives in the Chobe National Park offers excellent game viewing opportunities.

Very few people travel to Victoria Falls without taking at least the famous sundowner cruise down the Zambezi River. What better way to view wildlife, including numerous bird species, than drifting slowly down a side channel, the silence broken only by bird calls. From the boat, it is possible to see herds of mighty elephant, giraffe, hippo and other wild animals returning to the Chobe River to quench their thirst.

Camp Environment

Uniquely located in the North-Eastern corner of Botswana where the four African nations of Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Namibia converge, Chobe Marina Lodge is surrounded by the natural beauty of Africa.

Kasane is at the north-eastern boundary of the Chobe National Park. With a perfect location right on the Chobe River, the Chobe Marina Lodge is just a few kilometres from the entrance to Chobe National Park and 10 minutes from the airport. The town of Kasane lies on the South bank of the Chobe River. For years tourists have been using Kasane as a gateway to the Chobe National Park and it was from this town that David Livingstone made his greatest ‘find’, Mosioatunya-Victoria falls. Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe is just a short drive away (about two hours).

Kasane and it's road links make it a popular point for tourists to the park as well as those including it in an itinerary taking in the Okavango Delta. Kasane is the northern end of the tarred highway from Francistown and Gaborone which is an artery between Southern and Central Africa.
