Moremi Game Reserve - DRY Camp
Price Range (2017)
$590 - $1190
Chobe Chilwero is not inside the Chobe National Park but it is as close as you can get to being inside and is away from most of the other larger lodges in Kasane. It is a medium sized lodge that does not profess to being a bush camp, its excellent facilities are complimented by its location being set back up the hill with a great view.
After finishing your spa treatment you can go back to your oversized room and relax, or take part in one of the many traditional activities that this part of this world offers including game drives in the park or sunset cruises on the river. As said, this is not a bush camp and this is reflected in the lodge’s product as it feels more like a quality health spa than anything else.
If all you wanted was a Spa in Botswana then this would be a 5 star Lodge.

Chobe National Park is renowned for its elephants and abundance of dramatic sable and roan antelopes. Rare sitatungas with their splayed feet that run on swamps and their predators, the wild dog and lion, are often seen. The lush riverfront region is home to giraffe, sable and Cape buffalo, and is the only place in Botswana where Puku antelope can be spotted. In the savannah, zebra, wildebeest, warthog, impala and kudu are plentiful
Elephants feature largely on any activity at Sanctuary Chobe Chilwero, as the largest population left in Africa occupies this northern corner between Botswana, Zambia, Namibia and Zimbabwe. Game drives in open-sided 4 x 4 vehicles bring these grey giants into easy reach as they drink and frolic at the water's edge in their boisterous herds. Thrilling game drives lead by our qualified professional guides bring you close to hippos, buffalos, puku and other animals that gather on the banks of the Chobe River. The puku, a small rusty-brown antelope, alongside impala, kudu and red lechwe, are only a few of the common antelope found here. Naturally, lion and leopard are also found in the area.
The best way to end a day of safari here is sipping on a cocktail while watching an African sunset over the still waters of the Chobe River from the comfort of one of our specially designed riverboats. Sundowner cruises are also a great way of seeing buffalo up close as they come out of the shade to graze in the cooler evenings and elephants as they wade in the river. Chobe is renowned for its abundance of dramatic sable and roan antelopes with their impressive horns. Sitatungas - antelope with splayed feet to help them run in swamps - are often seen here, as are the wild dog and lion that prey upon them.
This is the first full spa on the Botswana safari circuit. We use only products, treatment methods and practices that are environmentally friendly.Luxurious facilities include an indoor spa bath, Vichy showers, hydrotherapy, plunge pool, relaxation area and private treatment rooms, one of which is elevated in the treetops. Treatments are provided by trained spa professionals, and include products from both the Africology and Thalgo lines.
Sitting above the Chobe River, the lodge offers unparalleled panoramic views across the islands and floodplains as far across as Namibia. This is an incredibly luxurious lodge with just 15 guest cottages, as well as the only full spa on the Botswana safari circuit. Relax in the split-level swimming pool, unwind with a pampering session in the spa or enjoy the gourmet food that the lodge has become known for.
The lodge itself is set up on the hill overlooking the Chobe River. This boutique style lodge is quite large and imposing considering it only has 14 cottages. Beautifully painted in African colours the structure is of solid walls and large, painted in a red ochre colour and littered with wooden artifacts either laying around or built into the walls.
Its really quite an elegant affair... the main area is large and airy and feels like a 19th century colonial lodge with lots of room and furniture dotted around all the while managing to keep itsef very "African" in its nature. The dining area is superb with an inside and outside section and great views over the Chobe River.
Perhaps the best thisng about the Lodge is the treatment Spa which is simply fantastic and perhaps only matched by Jao Camp. They really have gone to town here with excellent treatments available, the standards of which are way above some other lodges where the spa or relaxation area is simply an add-on, with Chobe Chilwero the spa is a reason to visit.
The units of of a high quality build and is in the style of an upmarket lodge and not a bush lodge and are all reachable through paths that wind through the beautiful gardens.
